Amd firepro drivers boot camp2/13/2023 As you can see from some of my OpenGL benchmarks, I did test the Boot Camp a bit and loaded up Company of Heroes 2, a demanding 3D game, to see how it fared at 2560x1440. I've also had enough failures with Windows 7 and SSD drives that the PCIe SSD could have been a factor in the decision to force users over to Windows 8. If you read my review of the HP Z820, you'll recall I had issues with the USB 3.0 ports because Windows 7 doesn't have official support for USB 3.0, and drivers to enable them could be flaky. Some people were worried that the new Mac Pro's custom design would prevent it from getting Boot Camp support, but Apple does ship it with the Boot Camp utility (though Apple only offers drivers for Windows 8 and newer). But I can say that OpenCL renderers that can tap both GPUs and CPUs simultaneously are still very much the minority-and will stay that way-so this isn't a good enough reason to only pack in one CPU. ![]() ![]() My only concern about these numbers is that the rationale for the exclusion of the extra CPU socket might have been to keep the total power consumption down for the fully loaded GPU and CPU cores. If you have a lab full of these, they will cut down considerably on your power consumption for all workloads. I literally had to check that I plugged in the Mac Pro to the Kill-A-Watt when first reading the idle power consumption. ![]() The power consumption numbers are impressive, to say the least: The new Mac Pro packs a lot into the small package, and it does it all on a budget of 450 Watts, which is the limit of its current power supply.
